Mission:
To manage land for community and economic development needs, with the intent of preserving affordability, in trust for the benefit of Girdwood.
First: Recycle Project
A major hindrance to any development in Girdwood is the high building costs. To bring meaningful benefit, with a low entry costs, we are working to bring a Precious Plastics workspace to Girdwood.
This is a system where small-scale recycling machines break down used plastics and can be made into new products. Plastics do not need to be shipped out of state or country for recycling. We can re-purpose these materials here in the community. This space could be utilized by entrepreneurs to create recycled merchandise.
Having a place to put a connex is one example why Girdwood should have land which is owned and managed locally, for the benefit the community.
Which of these molds would you like to see for repurposing here in Girdwood?

Priority: Housing
Following expanding on recycling options in Girdwood, we will focus our attention on housing. We intend to create rentals at price points that are realistic for Girdwood wages, such as service industry employees.
In addition to rentals, ownership and rent-to-own options will also be available.
Those with longevity in the community will have priority in selection as tenants and homeowners.
Qualifiers for the purchase of these homes include: no short-term rentals and the property must be the primary home for the occupant are incorporated into our bylaws.
Expectations and responsibilities of parties shall be clearly identified within contracts of any future development.
How does home ownership work with a C.L.T?
By removing the cost of Girdwood land, the cost to develop is greatly reduced, contributing toward the goal of affordability.

We need your feedback regarding utilization of land granted to the Girdwood CLT
